Hello! :)
My name is Jane and I am an independent photographer based in Melbourne. My photography journey began when my dad gave me his Canon 400D many years ago, and since then, I have fallen in love with the simple joy of exploring and seeking magic in our world with my camera. It is behind the camera that I feel most freedom and purpose and I am learning the power of imagery daily.
My passion lies in documenting our world, our people and our emotions. Almost everywhere I go, I carry my camera with me. I like being inspired by the people I photograph, and with each image I take, I learn more and more about humanity, what makes us unique and the forces that connect us together. For me, it is a tremendous privilege to be a photographer and having the freedom to tell a story and communicate what we see and feel. It is a great responsibility that I don’t take for granted.
My goal is to produce images that are honest and true to the profound people, the human experiences and scenes that provide the blueprint. Our world is always moving, always evolving and always transforming. But what remains constant is the raw human element – our emotions, and that is what I seek to capture in my images. It is what provides photographs with real truth, intimacy and poetry.
